I am also Human is a story of Zeenat , a transgender. It’s about the struggle that Zeenat, in her day to day life, how society treats her. She gets charged with renewed vigour and enthusiasm only to face the world in a better light.

Firstly, I loved the cover and the title is just apt. The Plot of the story is full of twists and turns. The narration of the story is engaging. The story has lots of drama. The pace of the story is medium. The flow of the story is smooth.

The characters that the author made are Interesting. Zeenat’s character has a strong personality. I loved Rajveer’s character the most. Each character is justified in its own way, lending credibility to the story. With each chapter, the story keeps on building great. The drama keeps the reader invested in. One can easily connect with The language used in the story. I loved the writing style of the author. It’s Lucid and Gripping.

The story strongly emphasizes on Equality, empowerment and the spirit of never giving up which is a must in today’s era

Overall, It’s a story with the strong message, interesting plot, crisp narration, simple language. It’s a light and quick read.

Summary:

Zeenat is a transgender, but she is a ‘Human’ first. She is struggling to live a life like a normal human being, but she wasn’t aware of the society. Her parents sent her to an orphanage when she was just twelve years old. She spent her childhood at that orphanage. When she came to understand the different faces of the society, she realised that a few people on the other side are trying to kill her. She ran from the orphanage. She started working at Benz cafe, where she met Rajveer, a rich, handsome guy from Delhi. Her simplicity made him fall in love with her. She was running from him because she knew her destiny. She lost everyone whom she loved. A few people were against their friendship too. They were planning the worst things for her. Things got all the more worse for her in her life when they both met with an accident and she lost him, even before telling him about her feelings. She lost every reason to live. She tries to commit suicide many times, but failed. One fine day, when she opened her eyes, she found herself at the brothel. But this is not the end of her story. She still has so many things to say.

The story line sounds unique. It is important to create awareness in subjects like killing a girl child, transgender, red light area and importance of education and knowledge. And I seriously want to know what happens next. Where will zeenat land? Will life atleast once grant her happiness?
