Summary:
A hydro power project in the remote Himalayas.Vidhya Thakkar- Indian blogger, Mumbai blogger, book blogger, Book blogger Mumbai
Three people brought together by fate. Nanda, an engineer from Kerala at the dam construction site hiding from his past, from the law, torn between the love of his dear ones and the traditional kalari code of revenge.
Khusru, a boy displaced from his native village in Kashmir, a gambit in the terror plot threatening to blow up the dam, working as a labour at the site.
Rekha, a Kathak dancer in heart, a doctor by profession, arrives at the campsite as the consort of Khusru.
A village that accepts the dictates of modernity with a heavy heart, its population steeped in superstitions and religious beliefs.
All throng the camp site like moths to a flame. Some escape untouched, successful; some miss a step and perish.
Each has a story to tell and a dream to realize. The fury of nature and hardship of project life has no mercy for the weak and time for the dead.
Like an eternal spectator the Dhauladhar watches as men risk their limb and life in their quest to full fill their dreams

Review:

The story revolves around  Nanda, Rekha and Khusru who are brought together by fate. The plot is set up in the hills of Dhauladhar where the Dam construction project is taking place. The book reflects so much of Indian culture, It’s Values.  The story is about their dreams, life and everything. It’s about their Struggle to fulfill their Scattered dreams. Each Character itself is an Inspiration. Each of them has their own importance, their own struggle,  their own story. The book is divided into various chapters, each one is dedicated to a particular character and says about their Past.  The characters are described in a detailed and crisp manner. The plot is simple, innovative, and interesting. The language used is smooth, simple and easy. one can connect with the story easily. The tempo of the story is also good,it has twists and turns in it. The pace of the story is too slow. it was the only reason that made this book a little boring. The flow of the story is smooth and going. The only thing that bothered was Introduction of characters. The author took so many pages to introduce characters, and the real story started late. There are sometimes when you get confused with the characters. The Narration of the story is also good. It’s well narrated and one can connect easily with the story. There are some parts of the story which are too interesting but there are some which are really boring. There are parts where there are too many details provided by the author which was unnecessary. but I really loved the characters in the book, they’re too inspiring. the story seems to be real and attractive.  The author beautifully narrated the struggle, worries, and lives of the characters. Their journey is described beautifully. The Backdrop used by the author is really good.  I loved the cover of the book. It’s really attractive.

Strong characters, Interesting Language, Crisp Narration, an Interesting plot makes it an interesting read.
