Interview:Vidhya Thakkar- Indian blogger, Mumbai blogger, book blogger, Book blogger Mumbai, Book blogger India
1: If you were to change your genre, which one would you choose?
Well I have always been a fiction lover since childhood and maybe because of this love I chose to write a fiction book, but slowly I am starting to love nonfiction, self-help, and motivational books.
2: What does literary success look like to you?
Being a first-time author, success here I felt was the reviews I got from the readers. There were so many people who said this doesn’t look like your first novel, you were great. While a few others said that we expect a lot more from you. Some even said that don’t stop writing love stories I guess this is a success, who cares about the numbers the love should never stop and I am so thankful for the love.
3What are your hobbies, passion other than writing?
Well to be very honest I do not have the time to practise a hobby anything besides writing as I am a hands-on mum to a two-year-old and have my work as well so just writing it is for the time being.
4: How did it feel when your first book got published?
It was a heartwarming moment, well those were such moments which was very hard to describe you just need to feel it and breathe.
5: What is your motivation for writing more?
When I started off I didnt know that a simple paragraph would turn into a book and when the same one gets appreciated you feel that yes you have that thing in you and you can do even better which is a great motivation.
6: Do you pen down revelations and ideas as you get them, right then and there?
Yes i have that weird habit of just jotting anything that comes to my mind, well i do it on Evernote which is very useful. So that when you sit to write you can go back to your little notes.
7: Although all books say that all the characters in the book aren’t real or related, but are they really all fictional and made up?
I feel that there’s a very thin line between them, i think every character’s characteristics are related to someone or the other, because when you create them it is from your own experiences or you must have seen them around. I won’t say fully made up but a part of it is certainly related.
8: What other genres do you enjoy reading?
Right now i am simply loving Robin Sharma’s collection, they are so heart touching and practical.
9: Have you ever written a character based on the real you in some part?
Well in my book “Hope and Sunshine” the protagonist’s character called “Naina” was quite related to mine. May be that came quite easy as this being my first book. Naina was very connected to her family and friends be it her brother or parents, so that part was quite related.
10: Can you tell us about your current projects?
Well, my next one too is a love story but a different one.
11: When can the readers expect your next book in print?
If things go as per plan i am sure it will come out by the next year 2019.
12: One character from your books, that you like the most.
I loved “Arjun’s” character, it was full of life never a dull moment with him. He was this cool cousin of the protagonist, other everyone would love to have around. Full entertaining package.
13: Message for all aspiring writers.
Just write write and write, just keep trying even if you fail at it, just write because there is no age for chasing your dreams.
