Winning Like Sourav: Think & Succeed Like Ganguly is a wonderful book about management, leadership and other valuable lessons That can be learned from ex-Captain of Indian Cricket team, Sourav Ganguly.

I loved how the author added a learning tip with each chapter. It’s not like a biography but about his life on the field and off-field presented in a different way. The lessons that we can learn from him, his principles, his way of living, each and everything is well narrated by the author.

I loved the plot of the story, especially the sequence of the events. How the author did the SWOT analysis, the graphs and the tables made it easier to understand. The writing style of the author is crisp and gripping.  The language used by the author is simple and easy. The pace of the story is a little slow. The flow of the story is smooth.

The analysis done by the author is apt and one can easily relate to it. The book is well researched and detailed. Each chapter had something that the reader can take from the book. The title of each chapter itself is motivating which builds readers Interest. Though, there are parts where the author describes more about stats which makes this book a bit boring.

Quotes, Achievements, records, Tips, believe in self, remains focused, Emotional control, everything is well described making it a wonderful read. It’s a good book. We can learn about management skills which can be helpful for the reader.

Like reading non-fiction? Go for it. It’s a quick and easy read.

Summary:

From being nicknamed ‘God of offside’ to charting the future of team India, Sourav Ganguly is undoubtedly one of the greatest captains to have played for the country. His records speak for himself: 18,000+ international runs and 11,000 runs in ODI matches including 22 centuries with an average of 41.02! Moreover, Sourav still has the second highest win/loss ratio (even higher than M.S. Dhoni’s) and also holds the record of the highest number of wins overseas as a Test cricket captain. What makes Sourav Chandidas Ganguly, the ‘Prince of Kolkata’, such a winner? How did he motivate himself when everyone had written him off? And what can we learn from him? Winning like Sourav aims to unravel the secrets of his success to help us think on the same lines and come out with flying colours just like Ganguly.
