The Show Must Go On.
Author: Shruti Johri
Publisher: Rupa Publications
She uncovers incredible and amusing stories from luxury hotels in India. She captures extraordinary episodes of infidelity, bigotry and brings to light the absurdity of travellers. She highlights the struggles of white-collared, blue-collared and non-collared staff to break the stereotypes around hotel professionals. While much has been written and read about star hotels in the West, the tales from India remain untold. It’s time we read these stories!
We normally read about love, politics and various other things, but a person having the master key to all the hotel rooms and her journey, the thought itself excites me to read more. It’s something we have never Imagined. A story with having a Master Key. I loved how the author chooses to write on very different and interesting topic. Every room, every person we meet tells us a different story. This book is about Gauri’s experience who assign tasks to all the cleaners, laundry and other people. How she always tries to help and save everyone. How everyone is comfortable sharing things about their life with her. The book has a variety of topics, some light some heavy but they are too interesting. Did eye’s lie was the favorite one among them. The Tempo of a story is too good, full of suspense, surprise, and friendships. It’s about truth, about faith. The pace of the story is also good. One can easily connect to the story. The author has used simple language which made this story more interesting. I also loved the characters. Each and every character had its own personality, it’s own story. The author had built characters very well. The unique plot had a very much impact. I loved the cover and the title of this book. it’s good and impressive.
Overall, it’s a good and an interesting read. I would recommend everyone to read this book.
