The Ambrosial Hour by Kakoli G is a journey of Aditi. All the struggles that she faces, her dreams and about her children.

The plot of the story is good. The author tried to add twists and turns in the story. The narration of the story is simple but a bit boring. Shifting plot from past to present made confused me.  The backdrop of Varanasi is beautifully portrayed by the author.

Many emotions like forgiveness, Love, Hate, jealousy are used by the author. I loved the way Aditi fulfilled her dreams and made her children capable. The writing style of the author is appealing and apt.  The language used by the author is simple and easy.

The pace of the story is too slow and a bit boring. At times it was difficult to connect with the story at some point.

The message of What goes around comes around is expressed well by the author. The characters that the author made are strong and powerful. It keeps the reader invested in till some extent.

Its a light and a quick read with a powerful message.

Summary:

The story takes you through the heart-rending journey of Aditi from the holy city of Varanasi, where she was born and brought up, to Delhi as a naïve young bride and the turmoil she faces trying to adjust to her new life in the walled city.

She seeks his divine intervention, only to be reminded that she has no option other than to tread this thorny path, but could seek solace from the fact that he would be her guiding light at each dark juncture in her life’s journey.

Thus reassured, Aditi surrenders herself to him and steadfastly surges ahead.

In the process, she experiences the extraordinary power of human thoughts.

She shares the same roof with her philandering husband and his family, yet she maintains her dignity and a distance from their negativities and base thoughts.

She chooses silence as her weapon to sharpen her intellect, build her mental strength and help her focus on carrying out her duties.

She uses quietude as her trump card and finally emerges triumphant.
