Typically Tanya is a story of Tanya Shaukat dealing with the ups and downs in love, career and Life. It’s about how her life is full of problems which she solves in her own unique way. It’s a story of Tanya and her Best Friend Sonia and her Life as a Journalist.

I loved the cover and the title of the book. It’s attractive. The plot of the story is interesting and full of drama. The narration of the story is crisp. The author has added a fun element to the story.

The pace of the story is slow. At some places, the story was dragged which made it a bit tedious. The flow of the story is smooth. One can relate to the story from the start. The characters that the author made were strong, each of them had a different personality. I loved Tanya’s Mom’s character the most. Full of Drama and fun. Each character had a vital role to play.

The language used by the author is simple and easy. The writing style of the author is Lucid and Gripping. The drama and dialogues keep the story going.  The backdrop of Karachi is beautifully described. The author made use of Themes like Love, Friendship, Jealousy, Regret, Humour.

Overall, It’s a simple story with lots of fun and how Tanya solves her problems. A light read which is a Roller Coaster ride.

Summary:

Meet Tanya Shaukat. Tanya’s got a pretty good life, working for Karachi’s Daily Image newspaper and smoking-drinking-flirting her way through minor romantic escapades. Sure, there are a few tiny problems. But, so far, she’s been handling them well enough – in fact, she’s even managed to neatly sidestep the rishtaas her mother’s match-making friends keep bringing in. Arranged marriage? No, thank you. She’d like some knee-shaking love instead. But Tanya’s carefree life quickly gets complicated after her (erstwhile) best friend Sonia’s shaadi is called off when the groom runs away with another woman – the same groom Tanya once got intimate with on a drunken night she would rather not remember. Now it’s up to Tanya to set things right. Will Tanya manage to save Sonia’s wedding? And will she finally find true love?

An honest review is what a reader seeks. These days I want light reads so that I do not have to put too much of myself into the book, yet be reading all the time. This title looks like one of those books.
