Aparna Jain stirs the soul at Crossword Bookstores

Crossword Bookstores in association with Westland Publications Pvt Ltd has evolved into a centre for communities to connect with the literary world. It has pioneered the entire experience of attending interactive sessions with authors, bringing readers closer to them that ever before, and changing the way books are being consumed today.

The latest such offering was with Aparna Jain, author, gender and diversity champion, at Crossword Kemps Corner on the morning of 29th September. She was present for an interactive session based on her book ‘Like A Girl’; a book with a striking cover, beautifully illustrated by female artists, and powerful stories to match.

The book features 51 women icons, who broke the rules to forge new paths for themselves and others. Adventurous and ambitious, they fought battles and legal cases. They won elections and matches. They climbed mountains and mastered science. Best of all, they never stopped chasing their dreams.

Speaking to readers, Aparna Jain said, ““We have many Indian heroes that our children don’t know about, and I believe it is important for them to be aware of the difficulties as well as the niceties in our country.
